Parents Empowering Parents (PEP) Society was founded in June 2004 to educate and support families and caregivers who have a loved one struggling with substance use disorders.

Our innovative programs are free to attend and professionally facilitated by persons trained in addiction, recovery, trauma informed practices and knowledge based experience.

Besides our 3 locations in the Capital Region and surrounding areas, we have added a permanent virtual group biweekly Wednesdays at 7 pm to remove barriers of location; to serve rural and urban communities across Alberta.   Our Family Recovery Group also has a restorative justice component with participants referred by Drug Courts across Alberta. In addition, we have a youth at risk group called U-turn that meets biweekly virtually – this is a referral only program and offers help to our youth and young adults who may be in a pre-contemplative stage of change.
