About

Whether it’s treatment for you or your patient, the cost of treatment should not be a barrier to receiving effective care for addiction. This facility, fully funded for Alberta residents by the Government of Alberta, uses proven approaches to build long-lasting recovery and a strong community. We are with our patients every step of the way.

At Red Deer Recovery Community, patients will have access to the most effective forms of treatment for addiction and mental health disorders, all from our passionate teams of clinicians.

Our treatment programs include:

  • 6 to 12 months of treatment
  • Detox, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and other proven practices
  • Our expert staff of clinical counsellors, medical professionals, indigenous liaison and counsellors, recovery coaches, and case managers
  • Arrangement of post-treatment housing and employment, and parole and court hearings, as needed

Recovery Community Approach (RCA) is a unique participative and group-based approach to recovery for inpatient treatment. Under the guidance of our experienced staff, patients work together to become positive role models for one another. Adjustments to personal behaviour and responsibility for actions are both used for the betterment of the group, and patients eventually become an essential part of – and even leading – each others’ recovery. And in the final stage of treatment, they become fully aligned with staff, working at the treatment centre.

Next, Recovery Capital Model (RCM) carries on that final stage by ensuring residents are set up for success post-graduation. They will work alongside their case managers who offer their support by arranging for housing and employment opportunities. This can help patients re-enter society and maintain their recovery.

Upon completion of treatment, the most important things you can do to be successful in long-term recovery and sober living is to stay connected with one another and become an active member of our Thrive Recovery Community.

Our alumni outreach program is offered across the entire EHN Canada network as part of our continuum of care. Designed to maintain long-term and supportive relationships amongst each other and EHN Canada, all program graduates receive alumni outreach calls, email communications, and invitations to special events and recovery related celebrations.
